About
Biography
Hannah Brown is a 16-year-old singer songwriter born in London on January 12th, 2000. Her musical genre is contemporary folk.
In addition to singing, Hannah plays guitar, piano, ukulele and harmonica. When she was two years old her parents temporarily moved to the Maltese island of Gozo, where they ended up staying for 14 years. The family moved back to the UK in 2016 and Hannah is now studying music at BIMM Brighton.
She grew up listening to the likes of Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen, Neil Young, John Martyn and Tracy Chapman being played at home; not only has she been influenced by these musicians but also has favourites of her own including Laura Marling, Ben Howard, Paolo Nutini and Damien Rice.
Hannah began performing at the age of ten in school concerts, but has now progressed to far larger events and has been involved with Sofar.
Hannah is looking forward to performing in the UK later this year.

Future?
At the minute I am really enjoying music college, studying songwriting. I am going to carry on and study guitar next year. I am doing loads of gigs, trying to get exposure! My goal is just to be able to do music full time!
Songwriting?
I started writing when I was 10 with the help from my dad. I didn't start writing completely independently till a couple years ago. It is easier to write when I feel emotionally strongly about something, very occasionally I get lucky and the lyrics just flow out. Lyrics are always the hardest part, probably because they are the most important to me.
